Profile: Mr. Upen Gogoi is working as an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Demow College since 1997 as contractual assistant professor and as sanctioned Assistant Professor since 2001. He has completed his post graduation in Sociology from Dibrugarh University and has obtained his degree of graduation in Sociology from Demow College, Demow. His area of expertise and interest span a diverse range within Sociology, focusing particularly on Social Stratification, Research Methodology, Social Thinkers, and Sociology of Religion.
In November 2023, Mr Gogoi assumed the prestigious position of Head of the Department of the Sociology. Alongside his academic duties, he holds the esteemed position of President of the Teacher’s Unit within the Institution.

Racheal D Sangma is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Demow College, Sivasagar, Assam since 01-09-2021. She is currently pursuing PhD from Sikkim University. Her core area of research is Religious Ecology. She has completed her M.Phil. degree from Sikkim University and was also a recipient of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). She has completed her post graduation in Sociology from Gauhati University with specialisation in Criminology. She has obtained her degree of graduation in Sociology from Maitreyi College, University of Delhi.
Formerly she also had teaching experience at Gauhati University (GU), National Law University and Judicial Academy, Guwahati (NLUJAA), and University Law College, Gauhati University. Sangma has few publications in edited books and has co-authored two edited books. She has also attended numerous workshops and presented papers in both National and International seminars and conferences. She is also a Life Member in Indian Sociological Society (ISS). Her area of interest spans a diverse range within Sociology focusing particularly on Sociology of Religion, Sociology of Gender, and Environmental Sociology.

Profile: Dipankar Goswami is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Demow College, affiliated to Dibrugarh University. His areas of interest include Rural Sociology, Industrial Sociology, Medical Sociology, Criminology, and North East Sociology. Previously, he gained experience teaching in various private schools and colleges, and he also has one year of administrative experience in the Department of School Education, Government of Assam. His current research focuses on boat clinics in Assam.
