Dr. Lengdon Chetia, HOD

Dr. Lengdon Chetia, is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of English at Demow College, Demow, Sivasagar. He holds a Master’s degree from Pune University and completed his PhD from Assam University in 2020. A former ACS and Allied Services Officer, IDBI Bank executive and PGT English of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dr. Chetia is an active participant in various national seminars and workshops. He has made significant contributions to various journals and books through his articles. His research interests include Postcolonial literature, Feminism and Subaltern theory, reflecting a deep engagement with critical and transformative academic discourses.

Shabnam Richa Sonowal

Ms. Shabnam Richa Sonowal has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Demow College since August 23, 2021. She completed her Master's degree from Tezpur University in 2020. A Life Member of the English Language Teachers' Association of India (ELTAI), Ms. Sonowal has actively contributed to academic discourse by presenting research papers at various seminars and conferences. She has also published several papers in edited books. Her scholarly interests are diverse and include a deep focus on women's writing, gender studies, Indian literature in English, and the literature of Northeast India.

Angkrita Chetia

Angkrita Chetia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Demow College, affiliated with Dibrugarh University. She specializes in Women and Literature and Indian Writing in English. Previously, she held a teaching position at North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) and is a member of the English Language Teachers’ Association of India (ELTAI). Chetia has a diverse range of academic publications in edited volumes and CARE-listed journals and has served as the editor for a book. Her dedication to scholarship is evident in her active participation in numerous seminars and conferences.
