Racheal D Sangma is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Demow College, Sivasagar, Assam since 01-09-2021. She is currently pursuing PhD from Sikkim University. Her core area of research is Religious Ecology. She has completed her M.Phil. degree from Sikkim University and was also a recipient of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). She has completed her post graduation in Sociology from Gauhati University with specialisation in Criminology. She has obtained her degree of graduation in Sociology from Maitreyi College, University of Delhi.
Formerly she also had teaching experience at Gauhati University (GU), National Law University and Judicial Academy, Guwahati (NLUJAA), and University Law College, Gauhati University. Sangma has few publications in edited books and has co-authored two edited books. She has also attended numerous workshops and presented papers in both National and International seminars and conferences. She is also a Life Member in Indian Sociological Society (ISS). Her area of interest spans a diverse range within Sociology focusing particularly on Sociology of Religion, Sociology of Gender, and Environmental Sociology.
